A factory solar rooftop can cut daytime power cost, but results depend on the real site—not only the kWp on paper. Use this checklist before signing and before anyone goes on the roof.
Roof structure and install area
Confirm roof type, structure age, purlin spacing, and approved fixings. If the roof is old or corroded, plan repair or reinforcement first.
Map clear area, shade from HVAC equipment, and technician access for maintenance. Factory roofs often have pipes, skylights, and equipment that reduce usable install area.
Electrical load and connection
Review at least 12 months of utility bills to understand daytime load. Size the system to real demand—not oversized by default.
Check the main board, inverter connection points, cable routes, and plant safety standards before COD.
Safety and handover
Assign safety ownership, roof access routes, and work windows that disrupt production the least.
At handover, ask for as-built drawings, equipment lists, and test records so maintenance teams can run the system without guessing the layout.
