Factory lightning protection belongs with the electrical design

Why industrial lightning protection should be scoped with earthing and the main board—not bolted on as a late accessory.

Lightning protection is often cut from budgets or added late. On plants, that raises equipment and downtime risk when surges hit.

Design it with the mains

Bonding, earth points, and conductor routes must align with the main board and building steel. Air terminals alone without a coherent earth system are incomplete work.

Scope questions

Full system design or roof hardware only? Who tests continuity? What documents ship at handover?

Best timing is new build, roof works, or a major main-board upgrade—so you are not opening the same areas twice.
