What “factory electrical system” should mean in an RFP

A simple map of plant electrical layers—from mains to critical circuits and building systems—so procurement scopes work clearly.

“Upgrade the factory electrical system” is too vague for a clean bid. Split the plant into layers before you issue an RFP.

Useful layers

Incoming supply and main board, distribution to sub-boards and machines, critical circuits, and building systems (lighting, fire alarm, CCTV, network, lightning).

Why layers help

Each layer has different standards, owners, and outage rules. Bundling everything without sequence usually stalls coordination with production.

Before the RFP

State the goal—line expansion, fewer trips, or solar-ready capacity—then scope by layer.
